Some Tips to Help YouNow that you have got the CNA certification, you are all geared up to appear in interviews and get the job you always wanted. You are sure to be really nervous when you have to face a panel during your first interview. It may not matter much if you are already in a job and are just giving the interview for a change of hospital or type of job. But in either case, it will help you to know how to tackle your anxiety and crack that interview for that dream job.

There might be some sample questions which you are most likely to be asked during the interview. If you want to achieve your CNA goals, then it will do you good to take a look at these questions and prepare well for the interview.

Sample Questions:

  • Why do you want to pursue a career as a CNA?
  • Why did you choose this hospital to make your career in?
  • Why did you leave your last job? What will your previous employer tell me about you?
  • What are your strengths and what are your weaknesses?
  • Enumerate your CNA goals in the next few years.
  • How would you react if you saw a co-worker make a serious mistake?
  • Why should we hire you? How can you help us?

These are usually the type of questions which are asked by most prospective employers. If you want to do well, you should be prepared with the answers which would satisfy your interviewer. You might also show your interest in the health care facility that you want to work with by making certain useful observations about it. And even with the CNA certification in your pocket, you should take these tips to make a good impression during the interview.

Tips:

  1. Boost your self esteem by looking at the mirror before leaving the house for the interview and giving yourself a pep talk. Try to insert as much confidence in yourself as possible and think that you will make a great CNA. Self deprecation is very harmful and should never be done.
  2. Try to make a good impression by dressing well for the interview. You should look as if you pay attention to yourself. Wear modest clothes which may not be very fanciful, but which should not present you in poor light too. There is no need to look flashy but try to look like a professional. Don’t make the mistake of wearing casuals.
  3. Preparation is a must if you want to be successful. Once you know the sample questions which may be asked, you should make up the right kind of answers for them. You can also talk about your strengths without sounding pompous. The key is to ooze confidence.

By paying attention to these simple tips, you will be ready to achieve your CNA goals. It will only be a short time when you get the job you want and feel happy to make life worth living for many people.
